Suzanne Ryan

C.E.O, Executive Producer

 

 

Suzanne is the Founder and CEO of SLR Productions; a company she established in 2002, and has executive produced 145 hours of children’s content sold to 185 countries worldwide.  Suzanne has 20 years experience in the television business.  She is an Emmy Award winning producer, a twice recipient SPA Children’s Producer of the Year winner, and the 2014 B&T Women in Media Producer of the Year winner.  She is listed consecutively in the ‘Who’s Who of Australian Women’ annual edition.  Suzanne was a SPA board member for three years leading the Animation & New Media Division.

SLR Productions library of award winning shows continue to air on Australian and international networks.  As a result SLR is one of Australia’s leading children’s entertainment companies.  Suzanne partners with major broadcasters, producers, distributors, publishers and creative.

Suzanne has established successful brands such as the newly adapted UK picture books Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs, the drama series Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures, the acclaimed classic preschool property, Guess How Much I Love You™, the animated adventure comedy series The Skinner Boys – Guardians of the Lost Secrets, the animated twin detective series Lexi & Lottie – Trusty Twin Detectives and the Emmy Award winning animated series I Got a Rocket™.

Helen Thwaites

Business Affairs

 

 

 

Helen has more than 25 years of experience in the film and television industry. Most recently she held the position of Business Affairs Manager, Commissioned Content (specializing in children’s content) at the ABC for a period of seven years. Prior to that, she spent four years in the role of Head of Acquisitions at the national broadcaster. Before joining the ABC, Helen was with Southern Star where she held a number of positions including General Manager – Southern Star Primetime, Head of Film Sales – Southern Star Film Sales, Head of Acquisitions and Head of Television Distribution – Southern Star Sales.  In her position at SLR Productions, Helen is the Head of Business Affairs and is responsible for the business management of SLR’s current and future slate of productions.

Jo Boag

Creative Director

 

 

Jo is an Emmy Award winning Creative Director and the 2014 B&T Women in Media Creative of the Year winner.  Jo has been with SLR Productions for 10 years and is in charge of developing and overseeing the creative direction of productions.  Jo works as the creative brand manager supervising more than 130 hours of content.

In her executive role she works with original creators, writers, directors, actors, artists, broadcasters, distributors and publishers.  Jo has overseen successful international brands such as the newly adapted UK picture books Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs, the acclaimed classic preschool property, Guess How Much I Love You™, the animated adventure comedy series The Skinner Boys – Guardians of the Lost Secrets and the Emmy Award winning animated series I Got a Rocket™.

Jo has worked in the media industry for more than 20-years.  She began her career as an Animator and moved on to designing and directing animation for television and advertising. In 2001, Jo co-created, designed and directed Gloria’s House a 26 x half hour animated series which screened globally.

 

 

Yasmin Jones

Line Producer

 

 

Yasmin has been with SLR for seven years and is the Line Producer and Producer on all major company shows. In her time with SLR Productions, she has worked on hit television shows including Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs, Guess How Much I Love You™, The Skinner Boys – Guardians of the Lost Secrets, Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomologist, Teenage Fairytale Dropouts and The Davincibles. 

Yasmin started her career in animation as a Production Assistant for Yoram Gross and became Head of Production during her 10-year tenure.  Yasmin was a Producer at Brilliant Interactive Ideas working on 3D animated episodes for Xena: Warrior Princess, Ace Ventura, Popeye and Superman as well as managing the company’s motion capture studio and assisted in the establishment of their Singapore division.

Yasmin is the author of The Animation Producer’s Handbook, published by Allen and Unwin in 2006.

 

Melanie Alexander

Head of Development

 

 

Melanie is a multi award winning screenwriter and has been at SLR for five years where she is in charge of writing and development on productions.

Melanie has been the Script Producer and Editor of successful SLR brands such as the newly adapted UK picture books Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs, the acclaimed classic preschool property, Guess How Much I Love You™, the animated adventure comedy series The Skinner Boys – Guardians of the Lost Secrets and the international animated series Teenage Fairytale Dropouts. 

Melanie has been in the industry for 18 years and teaches Writing for Children’s Television at the Australian Film, TV and Radio School.  She is a highly acclaimed children’s television writer for award winning series like Blinky Bill, Flipper & Lopaka, Tabaluga, CJ the DJ, Milly Molly, Dive Olly Dive, Play School, Bambaloo, Zigby, Penelope K By The Way, Sally Bollywood and Hoopla Doopla!

Her writing pedigree spans live-action, puppetry, animation, multimedia platforms and character costume plays.  Melanie has a background in teaching and spent 10 happy years teaching children ranging from 4 to 12 years, which has given her great insight into her target audience.

 

Pablo de la Torre

Director - The Skinner Boys Guardians of the Lost Secrets

 

 

 

Pablo de la Torre has been working in the animation industry for over 20 years. Having worked in most production departments from design to animation, storyboards, storyboard directing and most recently series directing.

Career highlights include directing the Internationally screened series The Skinner Boys – Guardians of the Lost Secrets for SLR Productions, Dex Hamilton, Gasp and The DaVincibles also for SLR Productions as well as being part of award-winning Disney TV series Aladdin and Timon and Pumbaa; as well as Flipper, Master Raindrop and Zeke’s Pad for Flying Bark.

Greg Ingram

Director - Captain Flinn & the Pirate Dinosaurs, Lexi & Lottie

 

 

Greg is a leading animation industry veteran and his career spans over 40 years starting as an animator for the pioneering Australian animation company Air Programs International and then working at Hanna Barbera Australia and other studios on iconic Saturday morning cartoons like The Flinstones, Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, Ren & Stimpy and PopEye.

Greg has directed and animated hundreds of hours of television and commercials and he has held supervisory positions in Asia on various projects.  Greg has a long association with the German animation industry working on several feature films, TV series and commercials ranging from producing, directing, supervising, storyboarding and animating. His Feature film credits include Kleines Arschloch, Käptn Blaubär-Der Film, Werner and Das Doppelte Lottchen

Greg has been a senior storyboard artist for several key Australian Children’s Television companies including SLR Productions, Galaxy Pop, Sticky Pictures and Viskatoons.

Greg has held two directing positions with SLR Productions.  In 2010, he was the Animation Director for GASP! a 52 x 11min series and currently he is the Director for the newly adapted UK picture books Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs.

Steve Moltzen

Director Guess How Much I Love You 1&2, Gasp!

 

 

Steve Moltzen is a director with over 25 years experience in the film and TV industry in Australia and is currently directing the international bestselling picture book turned preschool show Guess How Much I Love You Season 2.

Trained in fine arts, animation and graphic design Steve began his animation career at Hanna-Barbera working on productions that included such classics as Scooby Doo, Top Cat and The Jetsons.

Moving into commercial animation, Steve built an impressive TVC showreel while working with many of the top commercial studios in Sydney and went on to co-found the TVC animation studio Mudfish.

Since returning to long form animation Steve has worked on TV series and features with some of the top series studios in Sydney including SLR Productions, Sticky Pictures, Galaxy Pop, Kapow Pictures, and Funnyazhell.

Other recent directing credits include Get Ace for Galaxy Pop, Guess How Much I Love You Season 1, the award winning comic book turned animation series GASP! and the award winning pilot for Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs for SLR Productions.

Sammy D

Office Mascot

 

 

 

Having joined SLR as the office mascot in 2009, Sammy D has quickly become a key member of the company.  Having proved himself as loving companion, security, prankster, best friend and greatest cuddles there is no stopping his abilities or what he can do.  Now the face and voice (bark) of SLR’s animated company logo, Sammy strives to be the star of SLR’s next big show!

Also known as the muppet, poo bear, bubba boo and anything else cute, we are fast learning that this borderdoodle has talent!
