C.E.O and Executive Producer
Suzanne is an Emmy Award winning producer, SPAA Producer of the Year (2008, 2009) and the C.E.O and Executive Producer at SLR, a company she founded in 2003 and co-owns with New Zealand production company, South Pacific Pictures.
Alongside growing the company's current and pending productions, Suzanne's Executive Producer roles include the international bestselling picture book turned preschool show Guess How Much I Love You™ (Scrawl, KIKA/ARD, Disney, ABC, TFO, TVO, KNC, SVT, YLE, MDA), globally acclaimed animation series The DaVincibles (Neo Network, Moonscoop, Network Seven, RAI), award winning comic book series turned animation series Gasp!™ (Nine, ABC, Canal +, Nickelodeon), Emmy Award winning, AFI nominated series I Got A Rocket!™ (Moonscoop, KIKA, Network Ten, Nickelodeon, Disney, Gulli, Kabillion), action adventure comedy series Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomologist (March Entertainment, Network Ten, ABC, CBC), AFI Nominated drama series Deadly! (Nine Network) and newly announced Captain Flinn & The Pirate Dinosaurs animated series based on the award winning picture books.
Suzanne began her career as a journalist for Prime Television in Australia before moving into animation to work on the Australian Aboriginal Dreamtime animation series The Dreaming Series (Aboriginal Nations, ABC).
Moving to Energee Entertainment, one of Australia's leading Animation Studios, she worked on several shows including the critically acclaimed feature film The Magic Pudding, based on the Australian classic children's book by Norman Lindsay, starring John Cleese and Geoffrey Rush. Suzanne also produced the 26 x half hour animated series Wicked based on Paul Jennings & Morris Gleitzman best selling book series.
Other credits include heading up the Television Department at GMD, a Sydney-based, award-winning design, VFX and animation post-production company.
Suzanne brings more than 15 years experience in the animation and television industry. Suzanne was the Animation and New Media Councilor for the Screen Producers Association of Australia (2008, 2009, 2010). Her role there was to represent the policy issues relevant to the needs of Australian Animation Producers. Suzanne is also an active promoter of Australian Children's Producers community and the Australian Animation and Television Industry.
Creative Director, Head of Development and Production
Jo is an Emmy Award winning Creative Director and is in charge of developing and overseeing all animation productions at SLR.
These projects include SLR's new pre-school programme, Guess How Much I Love You™, animation series The DaVincibles (co produced with Neo Network & Moonscoop for Network Seven & RAI), Gasp!™ (52 x 11-minute animated series), I Got A Rocket!™ (which won a Daytime Emmy Award), Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomologist (co-produced with March Entertainment) Deadly! (a cult hit amongst tweens and adults).
Jo's career in animation began as an in-betweener in 1994. Over the next six years, Jo freelanced on various TV series and commercials, designing and directing original animation pieces. She is also a talented artist and has had several exhibitions for her work including an Exhibition at the National Art Gallery in Canberra.
In 2001, Jo co-created, designed and directed an original 26 x 24 animated series, Gloria's House, with Energee Entertainment. The show was sold to TF1 (France), RTV (Germany), Luk Internacional (Spain) and Network Seven (Australia) and currently airs on KI.KA and TF1. Jo was then promoted to Director of Development.
Later, Jo resumed freelance work as a designer for Playschool (ABC), and directed eight animations for Sesame Workshop (New York), before finally heading up the development and production of all things creative at SLR Productions.
Line Producer
Yasmin overseas all productions at SLR as Line producer and has been with the company since November 2007 working on Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomologist, Gasp!™, The DaVincibles and more recently Guess How Much I Love You™.
She began her life in animation as a production assistant for Flying Bark Productions (formally Yoram Gross EM-TV) in 1994.
Shortly after starting with the company, she moved into systems administration for the animation department and ended her initial stint at Flying Bark as an assistant picture editor. She worked on programs such as Blinky Bill I & II, Tabaluga I, Samuel and Nina and Skippy.
In 1998 Yasmin took a producer's position at Brilliant Interactive Ideas, a 3D animation company specialising in online content. Her job there was to produce 3D animated "webisodes" for titles such as Xena: Warrior Princess, Ace Ventura, Popeye, Superman and Kiss: Immortals. She also managed BII's motion capture studio for 12 months and, working as a consultant, assisted in setting up a Singapore branch for BII.
In 2001 Yasmin went back to work for Flying Bark, initially as an assistant editor, and then as a line producer. She also performed the role of Head of Production from 2006-2007. During this time she worked on many titles, including Tabaluga II & III, Flipper II & III, Old Tom, Fairy Tale Police Department, Art Alive, Blinky Bill III, Deadly, Staines Down Drains and Master Raindrop.
Director
Steve is the Series Director at SLR having worked on the award winning comic book series turned animation series Gasp!™ and now more recently on the international bestselling picture book turned preschool show Guess How Much I Love You™.
After training in fine arts and graphic design, Steve began his animation career at Hanna-Barbera working on various productions including Scooby Doo, Top Cat and The Jetsons.
In the years since, Steve has gone on to work at many of the top commercial and series animation studios in Sydney including Walt Disney, Kapow Pictures, Funnyazhell, Energee Entertainment as well as his own studio, Mudfish.
Some of the productions Steve has worked on in recent times include: Yakkity Yak, Toddworld, Winnie the Pooh, Deadly, Casper, Peter Cottontail and CJ the DJ. As well as his work in the animation industry as a director, character designer and storyboard artist, Steve recently illustrated a series of children’s books for the television series New MacDonald’s Farm for Beyond Productions.
This year marks Steve’s 26th year in animation.
Office Mascot
Having joined SLR as the office mascot in 2009, Sammy D has quickly become a key member of the company. Having proved himself as loving companion, security, prankster, best friend and greatest cuddles there is no stopping his abilities and what he can do. Now the face and voice (bark) of SLR’s animated company logo, Sammy strives to be the star of SLR’s next show DreamDogs.
